Our team

Our manager at the cafe ensures that everything runs smoothly whilst also supporting our brilliant team leaders, staff and volunteers.

We have a Steering Group and four Directors, who are all passionate about the cafe and its aims and who provide strategic accountability and direction.

The Directors are:- Gary Cliffe; Robert Matthews; Debbie Baynham and Pauline Yould.

We are also proud to work with a number of excellent local suppliers and organisations who support us and what we are trying to do.

We like to think of ourselves as one big family and want to ensure that people who work at the cafe or give of their time freely, also enjoy what they do.

The cafe is a “not for profit” organisation and our aim is to give back to the community whenever we can.

Volunteering at the cafe

We have a small band of part time staff who support the volunteer team and keep things in the cafe running smoothly. the majority of people who work at the cafe are volunteers, local people who invest a few hours a week to make our cafe what it is.

their enthusiasm for the place they live and sense of community, creates a unique, welcoming, relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere. the combination of their skills and attributes ensure the cafe runs smoothly so you can have a clean, healthy and friendly place to rest with your own company or friends (two legged or four legged variations included).

With many different backgrounds and interests there is always stories to be shared and heard to make Station cafe, Whitegate an interesting place to be.

Love this place, the staff are wonderful and the service is amazing. For the best experience on a sunny day sit outside, and soak up the sounds and smells of nature while you enjoy the food or drinks. it’s also a great place to park up your push bike, which is always a bonus.

We visited this little gem of a place after a lovely scenic walk down the Whitegate Way. Plenty of free parking which was a bonus.  It was the perfect end to our walk, hot chocolate and coffee cake, yum!

We have visited many times and most recently we enjoyed a great coffee and toasted teacake, sat in the sun in the very pretty garden. Lots of places to store bikes close-by so an ideal place to stop for a break, and very dog-friendly too. It’s great to see the cafe open again.

Station cafe is a wonderful and warm cafe sat perfectly on the Whitegate Way. The bacon batches are a must, they serve prope pots of tea (in China) and the cakes are to die for. We go there most weeks and it’s highly recommended.

This little gem of a venue of the Whitegate Way is a haven for the hungry cyclist. What better reward after a few miles of pedalling
than a sweet treat, washed down with a lovely hot cuppa.

Visiting Delamere with your bikes ?? Why not jump on the Oakmere Way and from there its full steam ahead to the Station Cafe at Whitegate, where you’re on track for a perfect pot of tea and a slice of heaven for your cakehole.
